Haggai - fill this house
What are your priorities? Priorities are the hierarchy of things we consider most important and most valuable. If asked about priorities many of us would probably say things like, ‘God, family, health, success, friendships’ etc. But the interesting thing about priorities is that they show up more clearly by what we do than by what we say. The Lord speaking through the prophet Haggai said to the people, ‘Consider your ways.’ (Not ‘consider your words’). The people neglected the Temple which lay in ruins and instead concentrated on building their own homes. And yet, in spite of their investment in themselves, they weren’t satisfied. ‘…You have sown much, and harvested little…. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes….’ The Lord didn’t say these things to condemn them. He said these things to awaken His people to something greater. ‘I will fill my house with glory’. Have your priorities gotten mixed up somewhere along the way? Have you lost the fire of living for the glory of God? The Lord is inviting you to something greater.
